A small change to how Patreon billing works (starting October 26)
Hi everyone!
Today we want to share a quick administrative update, along with a heads-up about our next release.
What’s changing
Starting October 26, the RAD Basic Patreon page will switch from 1st-of-the-month billing to subscription billing. This isn’t a decision we made ourselves: Patreon is moving all creators to this model because Apple’s in-app purchase system on iOS only supports subscription billing.
If you’re already a member: nothing changes
Your membership stays exactly as it is. You’ll keep being charged on the 1st of each month, as always. No action needed on your side.
If you join from October 26 onwards
New members will be charged on the day they join, and then monthly on that same date. For example, if you join on November 12, your next charge will be on December 12, rather than on the 1st of the month.
The good news is that this is simpler: you pay for a full month from the day you join, with no partial-month surprises. You can always check your next charge date at checkout and in your Memberships tab on Patreon.
More info (although it is targeted to Patreon’s creators):
Tiers update coming soon
We’re also working on reorganizing and updating our tiers to make them clearer. We’ll share the details with you very soon. Don’t worry, benefits won’t be change.
RAD Basic 0.13.0 (Beta 13): November 3
Mark your calendars: on November 3 we’ll release RAD Basic 0.13.0 (Beta 13). This release is all about polish. We’ve been reviewing and fixing a large number of bugs and improving the overall IDE experience.
Can’t wait? Some of these improvements are already available in the nightly builds, so feel free to try them out and let us know what you think.
Thank you
As always, thank you for supporting RAD Basic. Your help is what keeps the project moving forward. If you have any questions about these changes, just leave a comment or send us a message.
